February 2023

Here's a look at the stars that claimed top honours in the Indian automotive industry's most prestigious awards.

Celebrating INDIA'S FINEST!

The winners of the prestigious 18th Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY), 16th Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY), 5th Premium Car Award by ICOTY, and the 3rd Green Car Award by ICOTY were announced in Delhi on 12th January.

The 2023 ICOTY title went to the Kia Carens, while the 2023 IMOTY crown was claimed by the Royal Enfield Hunter. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz took home the Premium Car Award for the EQS 580, and the Kia EV6 was declared the 2023 Green Car of the Year. To ensure complete transparency in the winner selection process, Deloitte was brought in as the official knowledge partner.

In this year's ICOTY battle, the Kia Carens had competition from some very strong contenders, like the Hyundai Tucson, Mahindra Scorpio-N, Maruti Suzuki Alto K 10, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruis HyRyder, Skoda Slavia, Citroën C3, and Volkswagen Virtus. These were the 10 finalists shortlisted by the ICOTY jury. In the end, the Carens took the crown home.

Similarly, for the 2023 IMOTY crown, the Royal Enfield Hunter faced tough competition from the TVS Ronin, Bajaj Pulsar N160, KTM RC 390, Yezdi Adventure, Yezdi Scrambler, Suzuki V-Strom SX, Triumph Tiger 660, Honda CB300F, and the BMW G 310 RR. In total, there were 10 bikes shortlisted by the IMOTY jury for the final round.
