Sensible electric family SUV gets a nip and tuck to keep it in touch with younger competition

WHEN PEOPLE GO through a mid-life crisis, they sometimes go a bit wild, buying extravagant things they’ve always wanted and suddenly getting tattoos. The changes that mark the mid-point of the Skoda Enyaq's career have been rather more subtle, consisting of little more than higher levels of standard equipment and some styling tweaks.

Of course, the Enyaq isn’t the only electric Skoda SUV these days, and its restyled nose, with a new grille and updated headlights, brings it in line with its smaller Elroq sibling (which you can read about on p24). As with many people, the Enyaq’s makeover didn’t have much of an effect around its rear end.

Not that everything really needed to change. For starters, the longest-range versions of the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé - the 85 Edition with a 77kWh (usable capacity) battery - can officially manage 359 miles and 365 miles between charges respectively; that’s about the same as the equivalent Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
