We explore two-weekend getaways from Mumbai in the 2024 Honda City e:HEV

TWO FOR ONE

In the bustling metropolis of Mumbai, where the city's heartbeat resonates with the rhythm of life, an adventure beckons that promises to transcend the urban chaos. Armed with the efficient hybrid powertrain of the 2024 Honda City e:HEV, we set out on a road trip to explore not one, but two weekend destinations, all in the pursuit of discovering the remarkable capabilities of this modern marvel on wheels and we plan to do all of this on just one full tank of fuel.

Our journey begins with the sleek and stylish 2024 Honda City e:HEV, a hybrid sedan that blends performance, efficiency, and sophistication. As we embark on our road trip, the e:HEV's cutting-edge hybrid powertrain takes centre stage. The electrically powered motor, coupled with a fuel-efficient petrol engine, promises an eco-friendly driving experience and delivers exceptional fuel economy.

Our first destination is the enchanting hill station of Mahabaleshwar, a serene escape just a few hours' drive from the chaos of Mumbai. The e:HEV's hybrid powertrain comes into play as we cruise smoothly through the Western Ghats. The electric mode effortlessly handles the city traffic, providing a silent and efficient drive, while the petrol engine seamlessly takes over on the open highways.

As we ascend the winding roads to Mahabaleshwar, the e:HEV's performance shines through. The car tackles the hilly terrain with grace, and the regenerative braking system not only enhances efficiency but also ensures a smooth descent. The journey becomes an ode to the e:HEV's prowess, effortlessly navigating the twists and turns while offering a comfortable and refined ride.

HISTORY CHANNEL

When I'm around old motorcycles, I often find myself wondering what it must've been like to be born in an earlier time. Wondering, mind you, not wishing. I wonder what it was like when mankind invented the motorcycle. I wouldn't want to get anywhere near the first motorcycle, the Daimler Reitwagen (the word means 'riding car', stupidly enough), made by German inventors Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in 1885. To quote Melissa Holbrook Pierson, 'The first motorcycle looks like an instrument of torture.' And something that might cause an explosion uncomfortably close to one's nether regions. Right after it's shaken loose every healed bone in one's body.
