The company is recognised for the promptness with which it assesses claims, exemplified by an event earlier this year in which an excavator got submerged while attempting a river crossing.

UAA Group Executive General Manager Claims and Procurement, George Grasso, said the client involved worked within the forestry industry providing earthmoving, quarrying and work as forestry roading contractors.

On the day of the incident, the equipment was being used to stockpile willow trees that had been cut from within the river bed, being readied to be burnt in a bonfire.

"The operator for the business had decided to cross a shallow part of the river with the excavator to get to the other side, a task which was not uncommon from time to time," he said.
