The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) successfully hosted IMTEX, Tooltech & Digital Manufacturing 2025 from 23 to 29 January 2025 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru.

Bringing together 1,100 exhibitors from 23 countries, this year’s edition was the largest ever, underscoring the event’s growing global significance. The exhibition served as a dynamic platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore cutting-edge solutions that are shaping the future of manufacturing.

A Grand Inauguration and Industry Vision

The event was formally inaugurated on 23 January 2025 by Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, Hon’ble Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, Government of India, alongside Dr M.B. Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka. Industry stalwarts, including Laxmesh B.H. (Larsen & Toubro Limited) and Prashanth Doreswamy (Continental Automotive India), were also present, reflecting the deep industry commitment to advancing India’s machine tool sector.

In his keynote address, Shri Kumaraswamy highlighted the pivotal role of the machine tool industry in India’s economic growth, emphasising that Karnataka accounts for nearly 50% of India’s machine tool production. Dr M.B. Patil reinforced this sentiment, noting that the sector serves as the backbone of manufacturing and has witnessed remarkable growth, particularly in metal-cutting technologies.

Technological Innovations on Display

IMTEX 2025 featured a diverse array of smart and intelligent machines, high-precision and multi-tasking solutions, hybrid machines, robots, cobots, AGVs, manufacturing software, and Industry 4.0 innovations. This year’s event placed significant emphasis on digital transformation, automation, and sustainable manufacturing, aligning with global trends and business strategies.
