AT DONINGTON PARK, Jonathan Rea dominated qualifying by claiming pole position after smashing the lap record with a time of 1'26.080. His teammate, Alex Lowes, earned himself second place on the grid while Toprak Razgatlioglu rounded off the front row.

What continues to impress me is how eager this motor is to play, regardless of where you are or what you are doing. Threading through city traffic, the Guerrilla pulls with a confidence that makes overtakes feel trivial. Pin it on a highway on-ramp and the single winds up with a proper snarl that eggs you on to keep wringing it out. The liquid-cooled 452-cc motor delivers its 40 Nm of torque at a usable 5,500 rpm, which means the meat of the power is always within easy reach.
