Donkervoort's P24 RS is a 780kg lightweight with a 600bhp V6. Yep, it's out with Audi's five cylinder and in with a twin turbo six

ITS MAKERS CLAIM THAT THE NEW Donkervoort P24 RS is “the most Dutch supercar ever created”, which we can only assume means it likes to wear orange and shout DU DU DU DU, MAX VERSTAPPEN on weekends.

Apparently, it’s also something to do with the Dutch reputation for “honest, unfiltered feedback”, with Donkervoort describing its new supercar as a “direct counterpunch to a computerised, homogenous automotive world”. Ouch.

So yes, despite the futuristic bug-like looks, the P24 RS is a decidedly old school thing. Big engine up front, five-speed manual gearbox in the middle and all of the drive to the rear wheels.

At its heart is a modified version of Ford’s 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 with forged internals, dry sump lubrication, 3D printed exhaust manifolds and two new turbos from fellow Dutch firm Van der Lee. The result is 600bhp, although Donkervoort’s ‘Power To Choose’ management software does allow you to dial that down to either 400bhp or 500bhp when you’re feeling sensible.
