Oops! BMW confirms top-secret new models

Names and details of new cars are accidently revealed on brand's US online parts store

IT looks like someone at BMW got overexcited about all the new cars the firm is bringing out this year, because details of some top-secret models have appeared prematurely on the brand’s own online parts store in the US.

Most exciting is confirmation that a four-wheel-drive xDrive version of the BMW M2 is coming. It’s long been rumoured that the menacing baby sports coupé would be adopting all-wheel drive, because it is the only car left in the M lineup to send all its power exclusively to the rear wheels.

We assume the M2 xDrive will only be available as an automatic, but the website suggests the rear-wheel-drive M2 is sticking around and, hopefully, should still feature a six-speed manual gearbox.
