The world is pinning hopes on Electric Vehicles (EVS) to reduce the carbon footprint. EVs have been around for a while now and so the manufacturing efficiencies have evolved. With the digitisation of shopfloors and increasing levels of automation, a prototype can be built virtually, ground up to test real-world efficiencies saving Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) that crucial dollar outflow. At the Altair Summit on developing next-generation EVs using simulation and Artificial Intelligence (Al), in Gurugram, experts touched upon various application areas of simulation and Al through the company's updated offerings. Speaking at the summit, Vishwanath Rao, Managing Director- India and GCC at Altair said, "When I say simulation it means simulating any kind of physics, the structural mechanics, structural dynamics, compression of low dynamics, and electromagnetic simulation. Any of the physics that you can think of can be simulated." With this context, the summit focused on critical breakthroughs for the automotive industry to leverage.
