Multi Energy Powertrains
Auto Components India
|April 2025
Shriram Pistons and Rings is banking on the prospects of multi-energy powertrains, writes Richa Tyagi.
At the recent Auto Component Show 2025, Shriram Pistons and Rings Ltd. (SPR) demonstrated an expanding role as a technologically agnostic powertrain solutions provider. The company highlights a robust portfolio that spans internal combustion engine components, electric powertrain systems, and high-precision plastic parts. In an era where automakers are re-evaluating powertrain strategies amid evolving regulations, SPR has doubled down on its belief that ICE, hybrid, electric, and alternative fuel vehicles will coexist for the foreseeable future.
Each component is engineered with high precision and manufactured using sophisticated processes to ensure optimal performance, durability, and emission compliance across diverse operating environments. Of the belief that all types of powertrains, whether ICE, hybrid, electric, or powered by alternative fuels like hydrogen or CNG, will coexist for the foreseeable future, Krishnakumar Srinivasan, Managing Director & CEO at Shriram Pistons and Rings emphasised, “Our focus is on being present across every platform and delivering the same level of excellence, whether it’s for an advanced electric motor or a high-performance piston for next-generation combustion engines.”
