AFTER THE DEVASTATION OF LAST YEAR'S FIRES, MANDY MOORE AND TAYLOR GOLDSMITH COMMITTED TO STARTING AFRESH IN THE ALTADENA COMMUNITY THEY'VE GROWN TO LOVE

- CHRISTINE LENNON

HOME AGAIN

MANDY MOORE (IN A GABRIELA HEARST DRESS) AND TAYLOR GOLDSMITH (WEARING A RAG & BONE SHIRT AND THOM BROWNE TROUSERS) WITH THEIR SONS, GUS AND OZZIE, AND DAUGHTER, LOU, IN THE PRIMARY SUITE. A LUNA CHAIR BY STUDIO KALLANG PULLS UP TO A CUSTOM VANITY TOPPED WITH AUSTRAL DREAM MARBLE ALLIED MAKER SCONCES FLANKAN RH MEDICINE CABINET, FASHION STYLING BY ERICA CLOUD.

DRIVING THROUGH THE QUIET STREETS of Altadena nearly a year after the deadly Eaton Fire devastated the area, you notice the oak trees still standing. The debris has been cleared, leaving only foundations and driveways where historic homes once stood.

But those trees remain, and a fresh blanket of leaves and grass has sprouted after recent rains. The lushness and peace that lure people to this close-knit foothill community in northeast Los Angeles, the "Alta-Dreamers," as residents actor/ singer Mandy Moore, who is starring in the upcoming film The Breadwinner, and musician Taylor Goldsmith describe themselves, is apparent, even through this devastating lens. The morning mist, the shade, and the small-town feel draw people in and won't let go.
