De Gournay's latest signature collection features wallcoverings and fabrics inspired by Mewar and Mughal miniature paintings.
Along with an image of a 17thcentury Mewar painting, Rama and Lakshmana Search in Vain for Sita, currently housed at the MET, the designer Claud Cecil Gurney sends us a note. "We have a story with intense meaning and a wonderful vibrant colour palette incorporating ways of showing trees, rocks, and life in a way that is unique to this genre. These stylized and naïve trees have such beauty for me that I would love to surround myself with them in a room of harmony." He adds, "How could anyone not be inspired?"
