Open to the public, and advertised for weeks in advance, the show was eagerly anticpated by cat lovers all over the city. On arrival, spectators were treated to a wealth of vendors (at least 15), 73 entered cats awaiting judgement from a team of judges gathered from all over the world, and a variety of breeds, including solid, silver, bi-color and parti-color Persians, Exotics, Maine Coons, British Shorthairs, Scottish Folds, Bengals, Somalis, as well as a wonderful assortment of household pets.

Myths, legends, and galliard songs spread widely throughout Europe as people migrated from place to place, searching for food and a safe habitat. Fear of the unknown and the unexplainable, particularly of witches and their cat familiars, was spread not only by the stories and songs, but by the Popes themselves. Without touching on the atrocities of medieval times, let us just say it was not the best time to be a cat.
