His TV exit allows him to enjoy the things that matter most

These days, there’s a big smile on Tim Bailey’s face as he embraces a new life in Queensland. It’s a welcome return to form for the lovable weatherman, who was sensationally axed from Ten after an incredible 29 years on air.

“I’m loving the wife, loving the wine and loving the surfboard,” he reveals in an interview with Bondi Rescue star and his close mate Bruce “Hoppo” Hopkins, on his popular Life’s A Beach podcast.

"I miss nothing about the TV. I’m not missing being in a studio at all. I miss my friends and the people but I’m loving life up here. I’ve never been happier in my time than right now. I’m content, I have a grin on my face,” he confesses.

Despite no longer being on the small screen, Tim, 59, still gives his fans regular weather reports, only these days he’s usually delivering his predictions on Instagram from the back of a pushbike, which he rides along the coast for up to 50 kilometres each day.

“I got the house of my dreams three minutes from the beach,” explains Tim, who despite being born in chilly Hobart, says he’s always been a “sand between my toes and zinc on my nose” type of guy.
