STOP CARING WHAT PEOPLE THINK

Keep a healthy distance between yourself and anyone who puts you down or makes you feel bad about yourself. It’s said nobody can make us feel anything, but we can certainly remove ourselves from the situations and triggers that conspire to make us feel rubbish. Nothing says grown-up like rising above. This could be from the friend who gives you the guilts because you don’t call often enough, to the partner who says, “Oh – you’re wearing that?”

There’s a saying that roughly a third of the people you meet in life are going to realise how great you are, another third will actively dislike you and the last third will be coolly indifferent to your charms. Operate on the assumption that it’s true, and you may find it quite liberating.
