First 'Rep' Edition Class 47 Arrives

One of four new limitededition Type 4s from Bachmann, Anglia-liveried No. 47714 will only be available from retailers in the east of England.

ANNOUNCED back in January last year, the first of Bachmann’s regional exclusive Class 47s has now arrived, the ‘OO’ gauge model portraying Cotswold Rail’s No. 47714 in its attractive Anglia Railways turquoise and white livery (32-817SD).

This is one of four new Brush Type 4 models that will appear in the next few months as part of an interesting sales innovation from the manufacturer.

Each of the quartet is assigned to a particular Bachmann sales representative and will be available only from retailers that are within their area. With each one being a limited-edition of 512 examples, the idea is partly intended to generate custom for model shops that modellers may not normally consider ordering from.

In the case of No. 47714, it will be available from retailers in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire, along with East Anglia, the East Midlands and South and East Yorkshire. In addition, 150 of the model’s production run will be supplied with factory-fitted DCC sound (32-817SDDS) at £244.95.

Also due out shortly is No. 47832 Tamar in InterCity Mainline colours, which will be available from shops in the West Midlands, Cheshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire along with Wales and Ireland. Completing the set in early 2018 will be No. 47805
