CAMPING AND CORONAVIRUS

So, to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus the president has banned any meeting or gathering of more than 100 people. Does this mean caravan parks containing 100 people are out of bounds? Must caravan parks close? Gill Saunder

The Western Cape Government has seen fit to close all their municipal resorts and The Caravan Club of SA has suspended all rallies. Some privately run resorts said they although they will continue with business as normal, they will be making additional safety measures for their guests. This includes guests declaring their state of health on entry to the resort and if ill refused admission; of not allowing more than the 100 people limit in the resort; some will not be taking group bookings during school holidays or long weekends; community-based entertainment such as games rooms and sculleries will be closed and some resorts will not allow more than 50% occupancy. Check before you arrive!

Fortunately, many caravans and motorhomes are self-contained, having their own toilet and washbasins.

Latest information says that the incubation period can take up to 20 days before showing symptoms. That by the time one goes to hospital the lungs maybe 50% fibrous, and it is quite late.

A simple self-check that you can do every morning: Take a deep breath and hold it for more than 10 seconds. If you successfully complete this test without a cough, no discomfort, no plumpness or tightness it is an indication that there is no fibrosis in the lungs.
