Rohit Sharma's Fluctuating Form A Cause For Concern

Rohit Sharma cut a forlorn figure in the Mumbai Indians dugout in their last league match of the season against Delhi Daredevils as Jasprit Bumrah holed out to long-on to mark the end of their season. Their 11-run loss to Delhi meant that the defending champions were knocked out of the tournament and captain Rohit had to take a lot of the blame for it. Mumbai were well positioned at one stage and it was Rohit’s careless shot in the 14th over that eventually led to their fateful collapse.

The entire IPL 2018 campaign, in fact, has turned out to be a very poor for Rohit Sharma. In the 14 matches he played, he could only muster 286 runs at an average of 23.83 with just 2 fifties. In the eleven seasons of the IPL, this is the first time that Rohit has failed to cross the 300-run mark in a season and that speaks volumes about his lack of form.
