Team India pacer Jasprit Bumrah is among the few cricketers in the present setup who fea-tures in all three formats for the country. He was first chosen to play for India in the limited-overs formats. After impressing in the ODIs and T20Is, he was handed his Test cap a couple of years later in South Africa. Bumrah has been an inseparable part of the Indian Premier League's (IPL) most successful franchise Mumbai Indians (MI). He made his IPL debut in 2013 and has played a key role in the franchise's title triumphs.

Bumrah has played 27 Tests so far and has claimed 113 wickets at an average of 22.85. He has already claimed Test five-fors in Australia, South Africa, and England. In one-dayers, he has claimed the same number of wickets in 70 matches at an average of 25.42. Looking at his T20I numbers, he has 66 scalps to his name in 55 matches at 19.54 and an excellent economy rate of 6.52. Bumrah's strike rate, too, is very good at under 18.

JASPRIT BUMRAH: THE EARLY YEARS

Bumrah was born in a Sikh Punjabi family that was settled in Ahmedabad in Gujarat. His father passed away when he was only five years old. His mother, Daljit, was a school teacher in Ahmedabad and raised him and his sister with much difficulty. Bumrah was brought up in a typical middle-class surrounding. In a 2019 Netflix documentary titled Cricket Fever: Mumbai Indians, Daljit made an emotional appearance in which she looked back at the success story of her son and their struggles.
