A day after India lost yet another Test series in South Africa, Virat Kohli stepped down as captain of the Test team. India kicked off their tour of the Rainbow Nation on a high, defeating the Proteas by 113 runs in the first match in Centurion. However, South Africa fought back commendably well to clinch the next two Tests in Johannesburg and Cape Town and claimed the series as well. For the second time in a row, a Kohli-led outfit went down 1-2 in a three-match Test series in South Africa. Kohli walks away as India’s most successful Test captain, with 40 wins in 68 matches. However, the big question now is – who takes over? Here are five candidates.
