Regardless of where Timothy Weah’s future leads him, the young American is now a Hoops fan for life

Forever Celtic

A PICTURE paints a thousand words, so goes the age-old adage, and Timothy Weah’s post-match celebrations in the immediate wake of last month’s Glasgow derby win illustrated his love for this club.

Alongside the likes of Kieran Tierney, Kris Ajer and Scott Brown, the young American was seen leaping several feet into the air, with his fists clenched and his mouth agape, before the Paradise faithful.

Despite being an unused substitute on the day, the 19-year-old’s passion was unmistakable, and while only signed to Paradise on a six-loan deal, Celtic now holds a special place in his heart.

“The Rangers game was really good, and it was good to experience my first derby,” said Weah in an exclusive interview with the Celtic View. “I didn’t play, of course, but I was super-happy that the boys got the win.

“The celebrations after the game were really fun as well, it was really passionate from the fans and the players, and it was good to be a part of it.

“Given I’ve been at Celtic for these past few months, Celtic will forever be in my heart now. I love the fans here, and no matter what the future holds for me, I want everyone involved with the club to know I love it here, and I’m always going to watch Celtic, I’m always going to support the boys from afar.

“But in terms of the immediate future, Celtic is still an option that we have, it’s up to us as a family, and it’s also my decision to tell them where I’m most comfortable, and what we think is best for my future. We just have to figure that out, but no matter what, as I say, I will always love this club.”
