Junior wins North Road

National junior 25-mile time trial champion Ollie Stockwell got his 2020 season off to a great start with victory in the North Road CC Hardriders on Sunday morning.

The 17-year-old from Hertfordshire — the reigning national junior road race champion who is heading to Belgium this week to ride Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne — proved fastest by 46 seconds over a course shortened because of roadworks.

He clocked 51-33 and looked set to be challenged for the win by Josh Crow- Stewart (Arctic Aircon) until a puncture ended his rival’s hopes. Instead, previous winner Lloyd Chapman (Loose Cannon’s Conditioning) took second.
