After two years of waiting, Alex Dowsett finally equalled Stuart Dangerfield’s record of six national time trial titles last week, but the win did not come easy.

Beating John Archibald (Ribble Pro Cycling) into second place by just six seconds, and 2017 champion Steve Cummings (Dimension Data), Dowsett’s victory came a day before the 30-year-old was named as one of Katusha-Alpecin’s eight-man Tour de France squad.
