A Summer To Remember!

What a summer it’s been! As reported last month, I was really delighted to finish RideLondon in a PB of four hours 24 minutes, as that had been one of my main goals for the year. My other main target was to climb Box Hill (Strava segment ‘Box Hill 2.2k’) in under six minutes. I didn’t quite get there, but I did set a PB of 6:25. It’s been great having the CW Fitness Project in the background in my mind as I’ve been training — a bit like paying for a coach or personal trainer, it’s provided a potent form of accountability. Over the last couple of months, I’ve had nothing but improvements. Looking at the power output I can sustain now, as well as having lost five kilos — I’m 100kg, compared to 105kg at the start of the project — there’s no question I can achieve the ‘sub-six’ Box Hill once I’ve lost a bit more weight.
