A Goat's Life?

Do we just flow with the currents of life or do we try and shape our own destinies?

All four limbs tied up together and fixed precariously on to the back of a moped, the two black goats showed no resistance... They did not seem to comprehend their impending fate, yet they looked around at the roadside trees, shops, the passing traffic and finally turning towards me, they looked into my eyes with that same vacant stare.

I was returning home from college on my scooter along with a friend, travelling the same road and following the moped that carried those goats hurriedly to the butcher shop, their destination. A deep sigh surged from the pit of my stomach instantly choking my throat.
