Different Ways To Use Shapes And Colours In Photography

Simple Shaped object

It is necessary to train your vision and understand the step-by-step process to spot shapes in our surroundings. the best way to start is to look at a simple object and focus on different geometric shapes it is made off. is it made of circles? lines? capture a single image that shows importance of one single and specific shape. Do not hesitate to crop at weird angles or to go full macro.

Find the shapes in architecture

Now after training your vision, try spotting the shapes in architecture like bridges, monuments, stairs and windows. Shapes in architecture are common. again, try focusing on a single shape in or repetition of the same shape for great impact in your photograph.

Shapes in nature

This might seem hard in the beginning but nature has some geometrical shapes. think of a round flower, tree leaves or rocks or moon. you can also play with the horizon line. practising minimal photography can help you with finding shapes in nature or if you have a good eye you can learn naturally.

Mixing the shapes
