Weaving The Way
Parents World
|Issue 71
We chat with Social Weaver co-founder and CEO Sumedha Khoche about travel, play, and the role parents play in helping kids discover their passion.
-
these days, everyone is a self-proclaimed travelholic, but what you say on your Instagram or LinkedIn bio doesn’t automatically make it true. I tend to take the term “travel buff” with a generous pinch of salt, so you can trust me when I say Sumedha Khoche is cuckoo for foreign adventure. The mother-of-two has already set foot on all seven continents (that includes Antarctica) and has visited 40 countries to date.
After becoming a mum, it didn’t take long for the experienced traveller to realised that parenting is not as straightforward as planning a cross-country road trip. For one, there were no Lonely Planet Guides or TripAdvisor equivalents to help her raise her children. Frustrated with spending hours combing the web for reliable parenting information, the idea of Social Weaver was born. With the help of long-time friend and fellow mummy Kaivalya Gundu, Sumedha built an online treasure trove of parenting wisdom, where time-starved parents can discover and book local services as well as review products and services.
Her zest for life led to the development of Kinderpass, the latest brainchild of Sumedha and Kaivalya. Not unlike KFit or Guavapass, Kinderpass is a subscription-based pass that lets children try out new classes and activities at exclusive member-only prices and without having to promise long-term commitment. Therein lies the true beauty of Kinderpass. With tons of options and flexibility, Kinderpass makes it easier than ever before to help children discover a potential lifelong interest.
