Russia pushes alternative to SWIFT to keep trade going

As Moscow seeks to push a rupee-rouble-type payment mechanism, indicating its keenness to trade in national currencies with New Delhi, the two countries have been engaging in a dialogue on the payment mechanism as several exporters still have payments that are held up following Russia’s ejection from the SWIFT payment mechanism. Russia is pushing its own platform that is positioned as a substitute for SWIFT.
