Opp Parties Demand Probe Into Asad's Encounter In UP

A mid the ongoing urban local body polls in Uttar Pradesh, the encounter of Asad, son of mafia Atiq Ahmed, and another, has stirred up political controversy, with opposition parties calling for a thorough investigation.

However, the state ministers and the BJP in power have praised the STF (Special Task Force) for apprehending the perpetrators. SP, BSP, and Congress have called for an investigation into the encounter.

Chief Minister Yogi appreciated the UP DGP, Special DG and the entire police team along with UP STF for the encounter. Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya congratulated the UP STF after former MP Atiq Ahmed's son Asad and his associate were killed in a police encounter. He said, “We will not compromise at all on the issue of law and order.”
