Mistry Rules Out Taking Over Tata Sons Top Post

Says will only pursue his right to be board member

‘EVEN as the legal battle is heating up in the Supreme Court, Cyrus Mistry on Sunday said he was not interested in taking over the post of Tata Sons chairman or any other executive position at its group companies but would assert his right to get a seat on the board of the holding company.

The Tatas have filed four petitions in the Supreme Court challenging the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) decision to reinstate Mistry as the executive chairman and annulling the conversion of Tata Sons into a private entity.

The petitions in the apex court to strengthen the case against Mistry have been filed by Tata Sons as a group, Tata Trusts, TCS and also group patriarch Ratan Tata in his personal capacity.
