THOUSANDS of female Asda workers have won the latest stage in an equal pay fight that could hit the supermarket with a £500million compensation claim.
More than 40,000 store staff, two-thirds of them women, argue it is unfair that distribution depot workers, mostly men, get paid more.
Asda insisted the jobs were not comparable. But the Supreme Court yesterday ruled against the supermarket in what a union chief called a “massive victory”.
