When the original Chester City went bust a decade ago, it was the supporters who stepped up to the plate and founded the phoenix club, Chester FC.

‘City Fans United’ have overseen the club’s climb to National League North, but there is now a possibility that another change could be in the offing.

Businessman Stuart Murphy, who donated a considerable sum into the Blues a couple of years ago when they hit on hard times, is now keen to take things further.

While it could mean extra finances being made available if he were to take the reins, it would also mean that the supporters’ control would disappear.
