DELIGHTED Daryl Mc-Mahon hailed unsung hero Mitch Brundle as Dagenham & Redbridge eased their relegation fears and subjected Jimmy Shan to defeat in his fi rst game in charge of Solihull Moors.

Brundle put the Daggers in front with a vital opener before Angelo Balanta marked his first start since November with the second to keep the Daggers above the drop zone.

“I’m delighted for both Mitch and Angelo,” said McMahon. “Mitch does a lot of unseen running and expends a lot of energy playing for us in the midfield, so it was good for him to get some just reward.

“Angelo showed his quality at times today, even though he is not really up to match speed yet.

“It was a good performance and great to get another clean sheet. That’s one goal conceded in five games now which is terrific.”
