AS Nicole Kidman walked the red carpet at the London premiere of her new movie, Lion, on Oct. 12, tongues were wagging when a strong breeze blew open the thigh-high slit of her black velvet gown, threatening to expose more than her long, gorgeous gams. Holding her dress against the wind, Nicole barely avoided a wardrobe malfunction, but there was another reason people were talking: She was stepping out solo yet again, without her husband, country icon Keith Urban, by her side.

With their powerhouse careers, it’s business as usual for Nicole and Keith to spend time apart. But now, insiders say their near-constant separation — along with behind-the-scenes infighting and jealousy issues — have pushed the couple to the breaking point! “It’s like they’ve been leading separate lives for nearly a year,” a friend tells Star. “It’s sad to say, but I believe Nicole and Keith have actually been happier apart because on the rare occasion they can spend time together, they end up bickering over the slightest little thing, and it gets exhausting. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they released a joint divorce announcement soon.”

A LOVE GONE SOUR 

Sources say Nicole is desperate to keep up a united front until after the Academy Awards ceremony in February, but the fissures in their relationship have been hard to hide.While the actress, 49, insisted in March that “we spend five days apart at the most and that’s it,” she and Keith haven’t exactly been sticking to schedule.
