Weight Room Promotes Fitness At DISHS
DEER ISLE—For the past year, Deer Isle-Stonington High School athletic director Betsy Woodward, the DISHS Booster Club and other volunteers have been working to complete a weight room project that will allow the entire student body access to workouts and fitness activities on a regular basis.
Work began on the weight room last year, utilizing the stage area in the school’s gym with things such as free weights and exercise equipment. The athletic department used grant funds and a donation from the Booster Club to get the equipment, said Woodward.
