As summer arrives, it’s time to get close to loved ones in the garden. And to get about two metres away from slightly less close friends, in a responsible and Covidcompliant manner.

You won’t be at all surprised to learn that sales of garden furniture (and everything else you can cram into an outdoor space, in fact) have boomed massively over the last year.

Online searches for ‘garden furniture’ came in third behind only Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X during 2020, apparently. That’s according to a press release we got sent anyway, which revealed that sales of garden furniture spiked by 100% in Stoke-on-Trent. No, really.
