Dancer par excellence, Anamika Singh, shares with Society how her experience with myriad dance forms has brought her closer to God
-
‘Anamika’ literally means ‘nameless’, but a journey starting from being a student to a teacher to having her own venture, ADAA (Anamika’s Dance and Arts Academy), making this 35-year-old a master of about 25 dance forms, is certainly quite a feat!
Born in New Delhi, dance was never a career that Anamika planned or thought about, it in fact happened to her miraculously. “I was fortunate to receive education from The Mother’s International School. There, I was introduced to life and innate human qualities like gratitude, sincerity, truth, compassion, commitment, faith and love through inspiring thoughts and passages that were shared with us each day. It was in school when I started to breathe life through a divine vision, developed courage and perseverance, received great encouragement from teachers and friends, and learnt the skill to make my dream a reality. Further on, I graduated in English Honours from Delhi University and later studied Hypnotherapy to be able to understand human behaviour so as to integrate it with dancing,” she says.
