Help Your Children Express Themselves

Good

|

May 2017

Life Can Be Overwhelming for Young Children, but You Can Help, Says Hajer Saidi, Centre Director at Blossom Burj Nursery.

Help Your Children Express Themselves

HELP THEM BUILD AN EMOTIONAL VOCABULARY

Talk to your child about the different feelings and emotions we can experience, and try to teach him or her that it is OK to feel happy as much as it OK to feel sad. In fact, it is important to recognise both positive and negative feelings, and teach your child not to feel guilty about them. Show your child the different facial expressions using pictures of different characters in books or flashcards to help them understand the range.

DISCUSS WHAT MAY TRIGGER DIFFERENT EMOTIONS
