Comp-Tac offers quality, affordable holsters for defense and competition.

Comfortable Concealment

When it comes to holsters I’m a fan of trim, simple and practical, so when I saw the Comp Tac Victory Booth booth at last year’s SHOT Show, I stopped to take a closer look at what the Houston, Texas-based company had to offer.

As it turns out, the answer was quite a bit. What I saw was a nice selection of well-crafted Kydex holsters in a variety of styles available for a range of popular defense and competition pistols. After chatting with the folks at the booth, I arranged to get a sample of a couple holsters for T&E.

When I got home, I did some digging on Comp-Tac. I was generally familiar with the company, but not the details. The company founder, Gregg Garrett, started the business back in 2000 in his garage making Kydex defense and competition holsters.

Over the intervening years, he’s grown Comp-Tac into a full-fledged business employing dozens of workers and offering over 30 different products with a bewildering 92,000 possible variations.

In keeping with my preference for trim, low-profile holsters, I asked for two inside the waistband models to try out and ended up with an Infidel Max Holster for my work Glock 27 and a Two O’clock Holster for my Glock 42.
