IT’S said there’s a book in everyone. Mine would be a very long list of things that I know little or nothing about. No narrative about them, just a very long list of things.

The Last Word Tony Hamilton

My working and personal life has changed beyond recognition since I moved to the charitable side of the football club in 2013 and I’m still trying to get my head around the space I’m operating in. I’ve had to learn the Third Sector ropes and etiquette, I’ve had to curb my enthusiastic, often colourful language, and I’ve had to work on the concept of patience.

But I’ve also had to learn about the issues that people face on a daily basis and how we can help change those. Homelessness is one of those things. And there are many more.

It’s frightening to hear some of the reasons that people cite for being on the streets. What’s more frightening is the thought it could happen to you, and happen to you very easily.

In the course of the past few weeks, over 100 Celtic folk took part in our two Sleep-Out events in Glasgow and London, primarily to raise funds for Celtic FC Foundation’s Christmas Appeal but also to keep the conversation of sleeping rough on social media.
