Slow Shutter Photos While on Vacation

Summers are just around the corner and we hope you have already planned your next vacation! In the spirit of summers and also photography, lets learn a bit of both in this article about slow shutter photography while on vacation.
WHAT IS SLOW SHUTTER PHOTOGRAPHY?
On numerous occations we have talked about slow shutter photography in our magazine but this time it will be slightly different as we will be teaching our readers how to use it while on a vacation. Before we can go into the details of how to observe and shoot slow shutter light trails and star trails and such we must know the meaning and definition of it. Slow shutter photography, by definition, is using slower shutter speed which will allow the photographer to get creative effects like motion blur, camera shake, light trails, light painting etc. Let’s discuss each of them in detail and how to look for them in a natural setting while you are on vacation.
MOTION BLUR
Motion blur is the streaking of objects when the camera or the object is moving relative to one another and the camera has been set at a slow shutter speed. Motion blur is used to tell stories a lot and it usually depicts motion and commotion etc. If you are shooting at the market area with a lot of crowd experimenting with motion blur can get you amazing results. Also try shooting motion blur from a moving car or a train and see the amazing results you get. Experiment with different shutter speeds. Depending on the speed of the object in motion you will get a much longer streak or a smaller streak. You can keep the aperture relatively higher at low lights as the shutter speed will be extremely low.
