Vernacular Minimalism

'Every so often, routines become boring with hectic schedules and the whole stress of living in a city making you want to head out. We’re essentially a very outdoorsy family, so what we wanted was somewhere to unwind, and just be,’ says Reethika. With this weekend home, all it takes Eldho, Reethika and their twins Marcus and Zoya is a short drive out of the city, to hit their wind-down spot.

One could be forgiven for ‘judging the book by its cover’; in this case, the signage. It tells you, that this is no ordinary home. ‘From spending your day looking out over the backwaters as fisher-folk go about their daily routine to chilling out by the infinity pool, there’s much to be done or un[done] here,’ say Reethika and Eldho in unison. Step down three steps (into the backwaters) and the family can go kayaking! How much closer can one get?
