As part of an overarching trend of abstract themes for interiors, as well as a renewed focus on vibrant and warm-hued homes, candy stripes have become the new favourites in the décor industry. “Using stripes is a great way to get a sophisticated and chic, yet fun look, and bring order to your home. Candy stripes have the power to embellish a room with little effort. One of the best things about stripes is that they’re versatile. They can be elegant, bold and classic, depending on the aesthetics that you want to achieve,” says designers Disha Bhavsar and Shivani Ajmera of Quirk Studio. Agrees on designer Pooja Ashleys of Ashleys, “The candy-striped décor exudes an energy that resonates with the younger generation. With a judicious colour palette, it blends in with any style of interiors and complements the design vocabulary. They are bold and accentuate the sense of space spontaneously, as it has a strong visual impact.”
