A Wellness Journey

November 2016

Atmantan is a luxurious wellness destination spa that enriches ones understanding between body, mind and soul. Built on the healing crystalline Sahyadri Mountains overlooking the Mulshi Lake, the resort is but a three and a half hour drive from Mumbai and one hour from Pune.

A Wellness Journey

Founded by Nikhil Kapur, an Ironman tri-athlete and his wife, Sharmilee Agarwal who is a firm believer in energy medicine, Atmantan has certified experts in Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Pranic Healing and fitness. Incorporating traditional Indian medicine, western and oriental practices, Atmantan individually tailors a ‘Wellness Formula’ for each guest backed by scientific research that includes nutrition, massage, exercise, kriyas and meditation.

Set amidst 40 acres of lush greenery, the main spaces are ideally perched so that they hang over the valley and mountains. Oxygen rich plants like Dracaena, Philodendron, Areca Palm, Ferns, Schefflera and Song of India have been mindfully scattered around, while mosquito repelling bushes like Neem, Basil and Lemon Grass have also been planted for guest comfort. Excavated top soil has not been discarded but purposefully used for plantation and vegetation through this resort.

This wonderful ecosystem also includes an enchanted butterfly garden; (where flowers such as Stachyterpheta, Lantana and Belapurania encourage butterfly life) while the property’s rich soil keeps the organic vegetable patches full all through the year.

Fluid Expressions

Endre Penovac’s paintings are a dramatic dialogue between the control over a craft and the chaotic energy of watercolour. It’s like a dance between his hand and his mind that take turns leading, posing as crucial connectors to the vitality of watercolour painting.

Art Rovert

Art always returns to nature one way or another, whether it’s figurative or abstract and the body of work of designers Zim&Zou, more than proves this theory. In reality, their work which is rooted in story-telling and acute creativity even transcends the peripheries of art.
