Chic, comfortable, characterful… Sona Reddy Studio juxtaposes the modern and the traditional to spin nuanced narratives in this Hyderabad home.

Looking back, looking forward. Rooted in the then, aware of the now. Indian in spirit, modern in outlook. India Modern, in aesthetic terms, can be described in myriad ways… It’s like having guava ice-cream, with a sprinkling of chilly powder on top! At once familiar and different!
This was the style that an industrialist family of four wanted for their villa in posh Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Their decision to entrust the interior design to architect Sona Reddy was bang-on. The “Architect, curator, flea-market addict, business woman” enjoys a reputation for removed-from-the-ordinary, Indian-atheart elements, built upon her thriving 3,000-square-foot Jubilee Hills store Room Therapy — a showcase of elements informed by glocal sensibilities. Parallelly, she also helms Sona Reddy Studio which the architect established in 2014, and whose team savours the process of customizing and crafting spaces for clients through an innovative interplay of colour and materiality. The family, undoubtedly, was in safe hands.
