1 SOFTLY DOES IT

For your carving project, choose a wood that’s easy to work with. This shell is carved from white beech, which is nice and soft. Instructions on page 142

2 HANDS-ON APPROACH

Power tools are cool – Elise uses a bandsaw, grinder and sander – but hand implements let you get up close and personal with your making. They can also serve as a wall display in your workshop.
