Beata Jezek tells us how donated yarn helps her business Hedgehog Fibres make their unique and sustainable skeins

Hedgehog Fibres make soft, squishy yarns in beautiful colours. Their colour range reflects owner Beata Jezek’s style; from dark, rich and earthy, to crazy, fluorescent and vibrant. And their eco credentials are just as personal to her too.

THE NEED FOR TWEED

Based in Cork, Ireland, and named after the translation of her Slovakian last name, Jezek, Hedgehog Fibres was set up to create the yarn Beata wanted to use but couldn’t find.

One of Hedgehog Fibres’ values is to always look for ways to improve, which includes being more environmentally friendly and minimising waste. To further their environmental efforts Beata created Tweedy, a DK weight yarn with half of its total content being recycled.
