Brain-Yoga Connection

She published numerous articles in notable scientific journals. Svenja left the academic world almost ten years ago. That's when she dove deeper into her other passion: Yoga. Today, Svenja has completed a total of 1000 hours of yoga teacher training, she specialized in yoga therapy and is a certified LYT yoga teacher - a method to improve deep core stability and improve body posture.

Svenja recently published her first book about the connection of yoga and neuroscience called Der Yoga Effekt, so far published in German. As a great amount of our brain is involved in movement planning and execution, it's no wonder to see and feel what a huge beneficial effect movement has on our lives, especially when being combined with mindfulness. Her mission is to make more people move in a better and more efficient way and understand the importance of movement and posture for their well-being through educating about yoga and the brain.

According To Svenja Borchers We can use the amazing interactions between body and brain to positively influence our yoga practice, our everyday life and our body awareness.

Women Fitness talked to Svenja about the connection between the Yoga & the brain. In this interview she talks about the journey from being a neuropsychologist to become a yoga teacher.
