Education Helps Better Manage Health

Education is one of the most important pillars of healthcare. Awareness and knowledge can help prevent health complications. Healthcare providers believe that timely awareness helps to make right choices and helps avoid various medical emergencies. This holds especially true for Diabetes, about which a lot has been studied and spoken, yet there is still a lot to be known. Diabetes is a chronic condition caused by the high blood sugar levels. The pancreas secretes a hormone called insulin which helps maintain blood sugar levels in the body. The absence of insulin production or lowered insulin production leads to high blood sugar levels and causes Diabetes.

The International Diabetes Summit 2017 organised by Chellaram Diabetes Institute, Pune was one such attempt to make an impact in the field of Diabetes. The three-day conclave witnessed numerous national and international dignitaries speaking on the latest findings, techniques and technologies in the field of Diabetes. The event brought several aspects into light related to Diabetes - from clinical management to patient care, from the current challenges to the latest innovations in the world of Diabetes. The international summit was attended by various eminent doctors like Dr Lars Ryden, Dr Sam Dagogo-Jack, Dr Ananda Basu, Dr Rita Basu, Dr Roger Mazze, Dr William Rust, Dr Annika Janson, Dr Linda Mellbin, Dr Vinaya Simha, Dr C B Sanjeevi, Dr Suresh Chari and others.
