Research suggests that metabolism – and how the body processes food – varies throughout the day based on circadian rhythms, which regulate the body’s systems, according to Frank A.J.L. Scheer, PhD, associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and director of the Medical Chronobiology Program at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.
